Wang and Toor receive awards at OVPR ceremony

Qinghua Wang and Fatima Toor received awards from the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) on Tuesday, April 30.

Wang, a PhD student, received the Student Innovator Award for his work, which has led to the development of two new laser engineering methods for creating multi-functional surfaces, a number of published papers, two U.S. patents, and a $435,000 grant from the National Science Foundation. Toor, an assistant professor, was a co-recipient of the Faculty/Staff Startup of the Year award for Firefly Photonics LLC.
