Director's Welcome

On behalf of the faculty, staff, fellows, and students of the Center for Computer-Aided Design, I welcome you to our website. Thank you for your visit.  We are a group of about 150 researchers from the various fields of engineering, medicine, programming, IT, and many others. Our expertise is in the area of modeling and simulation with substantial history.  From the creation of the first driving simulator in the nation to the development of the most advanced virtual soldier, we provide a unique environment for research and development that spans eight research programs and over 16 laboratories with the involvement of faculty, staff, scientists, and graduate and undergraduate students.

We welcome your business.  At the heart of CCAD’s core values is a strong belief in science…we strive to advance the field of modeling and simulation at all levels through a multi-disciplinary approach.  Our faculty, staff, and scientists integrate mathematics, computers, programming, clinical approaches, data, and hardware into functioning prototypes and computer programs that can help people.  We have a strong focus on and tradition of transferring technology to the market.

I invite you to browse our research programs, our products, and our affiliated companies. You will find people’s biographies, publications, and current research topics for each of the individuals who make up CCAD.  We invite you to come and visit, experience the world’s most advanced simulator (NADS), fly the F16 simulator, interact with the virtual Marine Santos™, examine a prosthetic vertebral body, and learn more about how aneurisms are formed.
